Groupe de reflexion on economic and employment policy

Description

In order to support the work of the ETUI in its efforts to develop policy recommendations and offer advice to the European trade unions on issues of economic and employment policy, in 2003 the Institute set up a team of leading experts in this field. Eleven persons agreed to join the group.Top-level ETUC representation is assured at each meeting.
Discussions will continue to be held on topical issues of economic and employment policy, with the underlying medium-term orientation being towards how to sustain the Lisbon agenda of 'more and better jobs', the goal of full employment and strong but sustainable economic growth in Europe while maintaining social cohesion. The themes for each meeting will be based on the work of the ETUI, external contributors (who will be invited on an ad hoc basis) and the ideas and work of members of the group themselves.

Depending on the wishes of participants, the group may issue its own policy recommendations, reports etc.
