EDUCATION AND EXPERTISE

Georges has a Masters degree in education (French DESS) from the Universities of Alsace (Strasbourg and Mulhouse) and has been working for over 30 years in the field of trade union training at the national, regional and European levels. His particular expertise in the field of European trade union education lies in supervising training systems, establishing teams of trainers and training Euro-trainers.

SUBJECTS COVERED FOR ETUI-REHS

Within the Education Department he has been working as an Education Officer and provider of support to Euro-trainers. That work centres on four specific activities:

• Steering a team of Euro-trainers, which runs a training programme covering multicultural and European issues (Euro-trainers course, Level 1) and training tools for use on transnational courses (Euro-trainers course, Level 2) together with some pedagogical and theme-based workshops for trainers
• Assistance to affiliated organisations through provision of European-level training to their own trainers
• Coordinating the network of education officers and trainers from Central and East European Countries and its specific work within the PERC
• Provision of training materials to affiliated organisations and Euro-trainers covering the policies and demands of the ETUC and the training activities carried out by the Education Department, in particular via a database for trainers
