The following invitations for upcoming courses have been sent recently:

11.10.07 Health and Safety for migrants workers - a trade union challenge (752.40)
The Education and the Health and Safety Department of the ETUI-REHS will organise a course Health and Safety for migrants workers - a trade union challenge which will be held from 14 to 17 February 2008 in Budapest, Hungary.
This course aims:
- To reinforce a European network of trade union experts on health and safety for migrants workers
- To raise awareness of the health and safety issues for migrants workers
- To develop the trade unions’ capacity to deal with the problems of health and safety for migrants in their countries
The working languages will be English, French and Hungarian.
- Participants : National trade union officers responsible for health and safety
- Members of ETUI-HESA network and members of tripartite national body for Health and Safety.

10.10.07 - Free movement of workers (752.12)
The Education Department of the ETUI-REHS will organise a course Free movement of workers which will be held from 23 to 27 January 2008 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
This course aims:
- to gain a better understanding of the role in which European trade unions can achieve minimum standards at the European level whilst respecting working conditions in host countries
- to get to know how to influence the national legislation process on regulating issues concerning the free movement of workers
- to exchange practical experiences and best practices on dealing with open labour markets
- to build up trade union capacity to deals with the issue of migration (migrants workers)
- to develop trade union activities for joint action and mutual support on free movement of labour
Working languages will be English, Bulgarian, Romanian, Italian and Spanish.
Participants: National trade union officers who are responsible for integration and migration issues.

3.10.07 - Language Training Development in European Trade Unions (752.34)
The Education Department of the ETUI_REHS will organise a course Language Training Development in European Trade Unions which will be held from 13-16 March 2008 in Sinaia, Romania.
The aims of the course are:
- To consider the organisational and pedagogical challenges of language training for European trade unions
- To share examples of good practice in language training activities
- To present three new units of ETUI-REHS English materials (intermediate/advanced)
- To explore the challenges of e-learning for language training
- To consider possibilities of training language trainers to work with this target group at European and national level.
Working languages will be English and French.
Participants should be language trainers with experience of language training in a trade union context and/or trade union education officers responsible for the organisation of language training.

2.10.07- English for European Works Councils (intermediate level) 752.27/752.28
The Education Department of the ETUI-REHS will organise two one-week intensive courses in cooperation with Northumbria University, English for European Works Councils (intermediate level) in Newcastle upon Tyne, in the United Kingdom.
- 752.27 on 3-9 February 2008
- 752.28 on 17-23 February 2008
Aims:
- To bring together European Works Council representatives with an intermediate level of English and enable them to improve their ability to communicate in an English-speaking forum
- To provide representatives with the opportunity to exchange information and views in English about current key issues in the development of European Works Councils in order to widen participants‘ knowledge, perspectives and understanding of these topics
- To raise awareness of intercultural issues and to break down cultural barriers in order to improve communication within European Works Councils
- To develop social English skills which will be needed when interpreters are not available.
The working language will be English.
Participants will be European Works Council members and full-time officers with responsibilities for European Works Councils. They should have at least a basic level of English.
In order to establish the level of each potential participant, affiliates are asked to administer the Diagnostic Test, which can be obtained from the Secretariat of ETUI-REHS Education.
Please register no later than 3rd December 2007 for course 752.27 (February 3rd-9th), or 14 December 2007 for course 752.28 (February 17th -23rd).

21.9.07 - Project Management for trade union officers in countries of Central and Eastern Europe – Specialist level (752.17)
The Education Department of the ETUI-REHS will organise a course Project Management for trade union officers in countries of Central and Eastern Europe – Specialist level which will be held from 4 to 8 December 2007 in Vilnius, Lithuania.
This course will enable its participants:
- To provide project experienced participants with the additional skills and tools needed to manage and lead transnational projects effectively
- To enable participants to share and examine their experience in the planning and management process of projects
Working languages will be English, Lithuanian, Estonian and Latvian.
Participants should be trade union officers from education and training departments with experience in the management of European projects.
Taking into consideration the specific tasks in the preparatory phase before the course, we urge you to be particularly careful in the recruitment.

18.7.2007 - How to tackle precarious work: effects and ways forward (752.44)
The course How to tackle precarious work: effects and ways forward will be held from 14 to 18 November 2007 in Sesimbra, Portugal.
This course aims:
- to have an in-depth understanding of realities and consequences of precarious work
- to have a better understanding of the flexibility and security systems
- to develop the trade union capacity to tackle the effects of precarious work and finding the ways forward
The working languages will be English, French, Portuguese and passive Spanish.
Participants should be national trade union officers responsible for integration and labour market issues and national trade union officers responsible for collective bargaining.
The registrations have to be sent no later than 12 October 2007.
