Description

New paths in working time policy are currently being sought in order to create new jobs, or preserve existing ones, and to improve the quality of life. Reduced working hours, part-time work, paid leave, educational leave, lifelong learning, flexible retirement schemes and an alternative distribution of working time over the working life-cycle are just some of the approaches advocated. These different measures are presented in this volume in the context of an overall policy designed to focus on the possibility of "lifetime working hours".
