Social dumping and the European social model
In connection with the fact finding analysis based on statistics on productivity levels and wage levels in CEEC-s /(which is missing from all available statistical sources so far), also differentiating according the 'whole economy', 'industry', and 'manufacturing'/ linked to the 'relocation' project, we conduct the analysis further and deepen it with a view to the European Social Model (ESM).
Description
Having identified the current wage levels in relation to productivity /unit labour costs/, evaluate what sustainable options can be identified in harmonising the two levels. It is crucial to make an attempt for defining what practices can be regarded as 'social and wage dumping'.
As regards the broader context of the ESM, we will rely on shares of social spending and the overall structure of social protection systems, and other indicators. We would also like to place the CEE countries in the conceptual framework of the ESM, with a view of previous research undertaken by Maria Jepsen and Amparo Serrano.
