Description

The adoption of a European Directive is a first step, but which has to be followed by its transposition into the national legislations. To present and analyse this important stage, the ETUI has just published three new reports on the subject. Report 87 looks more closely among others into the implementation process, enforcement, involvement of social partners and the scope and definitions, such as direct, indirect discrimination and harassment. Report 88 groups information on age and disability under the aspect of positive action and different treatment. While Report 89 looks e.g. at the dissemination of information; at the enforcement such as judicial and administrative procedure, the burden of proof, etc. and at national court cases.

The reports do not only aim at informing the reader on the state of play of national transposition but also serve as an incentive for discussions on the subject at both national and European level by providing the requisite comparative material.
