Participants: Trade union officers or representatives from CEEC trade union organisations with at least a basic knowledge of English  

Aims

To enable trade union officers from different Central and Eastern European countries with a basic level of English to operate more effectively for professional purposes in a trans-national English-speaking environment

To achieve this aim, participants will:

  • Improve their confidence in speaking by presenting their organisation to others
  • Exchange information and views about contemporary trade union issues in different member states, to widen their perspectives of trade union organisation across Europe
  • Increase vocabulary related to a range of relevant issues such as social dialogue and European collective bargaining, and worker mobility within Europe
  • Improve their social English and understanding of cultural differences through informal and informal interaction with each other, and with local trade unionists
  • Become part of a network of trade unionists able to contribute to European cooperation projects

Education officer
