Training on trade union involvement in the implementation of the ESF 2007-2013 in Bucharest
The 3rd joint course organised by ETUI-Education in cooperation with the ETUC on Training on trade union involvement in the implementation of the ESF 2007-2013 took place in Bucharest, from 22 to 24 April 2008, with 24 participants from 9 countries and 13 trade unions.
The target group were representatives of the education, employment and equality departments of national trade union confederations, as well as trade union members of the ESF Monitoring Committees.
The course, opened by Mariana Kniesner, BNS vice-president in charge of education and training programmes and the ESF, was supported by the ESF Unit of DG Employment (European Commission).
After a presentation of the ESF as a strategic tool for supporting trade unions and of the latest developments in the implementation of the Operational Programmes for each Member State, time was allotted for an exchange of good experiences by trade union colleagues (from CGIL, FNV and SACO) experienced in using and participating in the Social Fund. An initial evaluation of the Romanian experience was presented by Mariana Kniesner.
The ETUC representative, Claude Denagtergal, presented the latest results of a questionnaire sent to all the affiliates on how trade unions have been negotiating the Operational Programmes and on their overall assessment of the results.
