Gender equality is a fundamental right in the European Union. Increasingly, research is showing that women are a necessary factor in achieving the European Union' s objectives of growth, employment and social cohesion.
L'égalité entre les genres est un droit fondamental dans l'Union européenne. Il est aussi de plus en plus établi que les femmes représentent un facteur indispensable pour la réalisation des objectifs de l'Union européenne en matière de croissance, d'emploi et de cohésion sociale.
Gendergelijkheid is een grondrecht in de Europese Unie. Er wordt ook steeds meer aangetoond dat vrouwen een noodzakelijke factor zijn om de doelstellingen van de Europese Unie op het vlak van groei, tewerkstelling en sociale samenhang te bereiken.
The panorama of the trade union press in Europe is variegated, confusing and in a state of constant flux. The innumerable membership magazines, weekly papers and newsletters fulfil a wide range of purposes: they provide information on the politics of the day from the standpoint of the trade unions; they supply background explanation; they spotlight important long-term social or labour market policy developments; or they pass on internal trade union information. Sometimes they also report on happenings and developments in neighbouring countries or at European level.
