European Works Councils database

Description

The EWC database of the ETUI-REHS is an important resource of information on multinationals that are affected by the EWC directives and it disposes of the most complete collection of full texts of agreements (over 950 texts in English). The Multinationals Database, which lists all the companies affected by the EWC Directive, and the Full-Text Database, with the English texts of the EWC agreements are merged in 2004 on a single CD-ROM. With the creation of the website www.ewcdb.org in 2005 a first step was set towards providing a better information service about multinationals that have installed EWCs, the workforce employed in the different countries and the composition of the European works council. Via this website at least 130 requests for EWC agreements were received. The site has also served as a tool for EWC members to provide feedback on their company or works council and has thus allowed the ETUI-REHS to update a number of records and collect new agreements.
